Maps as Data: Bivariate Mapping, Laser-Cut Mapping, and Projection Mapping

Week 6

Spatial Workshop 1

SCAET building of Sheridan College Trafalgar Campus. <br> The materials of this building involve 
                metal, colored glass, and bricks atop concrete. The space is modern and simplistic and its
                open area allows students to socialize or navigate around campus. The ceramics lab.<br> Majority of the space is made out of concrete and as the name states, includes
                ceramic projects stored in shelves. The area of this lab is small and narrow which means it can get chaotic or messy
                during work hours. However, the color and the chaos gives the impression that it is a student
                laboratory. There is natural lighting above from the window. The Marquee.<br> Its modern vibe emits a cozy and homey feel with its warm colors and furniture. The area is
                large and spacious where students can order food at the bar, eat at the tables, study, 
                or hang out with friends.

Spatial Workshop 2

Chosen Environment: The Ceramics Lab

Proposal: A separate building dedicated to the ceramics studio.<br>
                This can be used as additional storage space, a display room similar to a museum,
                or another studio. The space inside is large and open and includes shelving such as
                podiums or display cases made out of sturdy plastic. Proposal: An elevator from the ground floor to the second floor.<br>
                There are no major changes to the ceramics studio itself. Rather, this suggestion
                was highlighted not only out of accessibility purposes, but because there are no 
                ramps or elevators to access the next floor. There are only stairs.
                The inside of the elevator is clean and has a typical appearance. However, the area
                would be long, similar to those elevators found in airports. They accommodate for
                trolleys, wheelchairs, or larger ceramics being transported. Proposal: A built-in display showcase.<br>
                At the side or the back of the room is a showcase that is dug into the wall.
                It is protected by glass so as to keep it clean. Inside this display are
                student works and descriptions of what each are. Additionally, these
                displays are customizable by movable shelves and students can arrange them so that there can
                be multiple rows or columns.
